Manager's Suite, The Arms Hotel, Sunday evening
Mary was curled up on her couch with a mug of tea while she watched the television. Just before the end of "The Amazing Race," she grabbed her cordless phone and dialed a number in Las Vegas. "Are you going to watch?" she asked as soon as Danny answered.
"Of course I am," said Danny. "No spoilers, Mary! You know I have to wait another two hours before it's on in my time zone."
"All the more reason for you to come out here and visit me. We could watch it together. I mean, I'm sure the president of operations has access to the private jet," said Mary, laughing. She paused for a moment before adding, "You know, we should compete on this. We'd make an amazing team."
"Definitely," agreed Danny. "We would be awesome. I just don't know... I mean, it's kind of tough to get away right now with my job and Delinda and the baby."
"Put it on your bucket list?" said Mary. "Babies grow up eventually and Delinda has people who can help her if she needs it. And you know Mike would fly back to Las Vegas in a heartbeat to cover for you."
She could hear Danny sigh on the other end. "Maybe one day, Mary," he said. "It would be nice. I can't remember the last time we spent time together. Hey, are you going to watch 'Undercover Boss?' I think I should be ready in case Cooper wants to do this someday."
"You should tell him to do it. Remember the time Ed made us switch jobs?" said Mary. And they went on for hours, chatting about old memories and making plans for the future.
[Door is closed and locked but post is open if any hotel residents are around.]
