I was thinking about asking my doctor to up my thyroid medication. I still have almost all of the severe symptoms of hypothyroidism, and I still feel tired and sluggish more often than not. The symptoms are dulled, of course, but I still have them. And it's not that I think Armor Thyroid is some ~magical cure~, it's more that I still have a strong sense of "something is wrong with me." The constant BRAIN FOG is the biggest and more annoying issue, though.
Oh, and despite having been really good about taking my iron supplements/vitamins, I still have a lot of severe anemia symptoms. Like last week? I keep having horrible chest pains and headaches. And shortness of breath, as usual. Brittle nails, dry skin, dry hair, etc.
Well, after doing some in-depth research today, my diet could have a lot to do with it. Hilariously enough, my efforts to eat healthier may have actually backfired because so many of the foods I enjoy inhibit thyroid and iron absorption.
So uh, I can't have the following until mid-day:
- Dairy products
- Soy products (looks like rice milk for me!)
- Anything calcium-enriched
- Broccoli
- Cabbage
- Spinach
- Oatmeal
- Rye
- Fruit Juice
- Peanuts
- Tea :C
And then? Mid-day is when I take my Iron supplements. GUESS WHAT I CAN'T EAT THEN?
- Soy products
- Coffee
- Black and green teas :CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC x forever
So I seriously can't have my tea until like, 2pm or 3pm. WEHHHHH.
And this means that, for breakfast, I basically have to stick with wheat bread or fruit, especially fruit with vitamin C and antioxidants. I BETTER LEARN TO LIKE BLUEBERRIES.
Not that I'm complaining but... that marks off my three favorite breakfasts.
God, I feel like such an old person or like, I'm reminded of when I worked as a ranch hand and all the animals had to eat specific things at specific times. I FEEL LIKE AN OLD PONY :C
I want tea so bad right now, guys. 8c
Uh, in other news I am working on a new and shiny ref for Mischief and am rather excited about it :3 Nemphyss is up next, but I'm actually struggling getting her (my?) body type down. I'm this awkward in between fat and not really fat, so I either make her look too thin or too thick, hahah. DAMN MY AWKWARD GOBLIN-ESQUE PROPORTIONS.
