Last night I saw F. W. Murnau's Sunrise (1927), and it was incredible. No synopsis can effectively relate what the visuals can, and its best not to know the plot twists beforehand. I liked this a bit more than The Last Laugh (1924). I'll have to pick up a copy soon. The mise en scene, lighting, sets, mood, acting, premise, and score were very excellent all around. The only bad thing about OSU's Unseen Cinema program is that it doesn't play every night (or at least a few films in a row one night a week).

silent cinema, german expressionism, film lectures and screenings, f. w. murnau
