This weekend and such

I am happy to say I have finally come to a very good agreement with my distributor. As a startup company they seem eager work with me in coming to an agreement I can be comfortable with. Although my ideal distributor would be Zeitgeist films, who markets such arthouse fare as Guy Maddin's body of work, I realize I'll need to build up a reputation on this particular title. If it sells reasonably, then perhaps Zeitgeist or Kino will be interested in taking it over at some point.

I talked them into limiting the domestic release to only 5 yrs., limiting the internet-streaming to five years only, and the foreign sales to 10 yrs. Also, they will also allow me to maintain my own website for the film if I choose to do so, and sell my own copies through it as well. If they cannot find a venue for the film at all within the span of a year, then the contract will dissolve. So its a win-win situation for me, because I could never decide between traditional distribution and self-promotion. This way they are allowing for both.

Sometime this weekend I need to have some sort of friends birthday gathering, even something as simple as getting together to watch a few old movies.

I'm so dying to see A History of Violence. I'm seeing that for sure this weekend. Maybe before or after Serenity Friday night. Or Sunday afternoon.
