This educational Russian film from 1940 demonstrates how organs can continue to function outside a body, how a dismembered head can continue to survive, and finally and most importantly, how dogs that have been dead up to ten minutes or more can be completely revived with an "autojector".
This sounds gruesome, and yes, the dog head is a bit disturbing, but the amazing resuscitations by the end make one wonder where we are now. If this was possible in 1940, what have we achieved since then along these lines?
