I love the Muppets so. Although I caught a couple of episodes on TV and thought they were scarily sexist. I remember as a kid I HATED Miss Piggy...the diva personality, and the constant Kermit-chasing. I think back then I identified with Scooter.
I do like that it works on both levels...and just the whole Muppet thing...so cool!
I remember that article, and if I remember correctly, the author was comparing the Miss Piggy of movies like The Great Muppet Caper and The Muppets Take Manhattan to the Miss Piggy of the later Muppet movies, where her roles were considerably more passive.
I like the movie Miss Piggy better than the TV show Miss Piggy, although I haven't seen much of the TV show Miss Piggy as an adult. I do feel like the TV show was way more sexist.
When I watch the old Muppet movies now, it's hard not to see Miss Piggy as a bit of a drag queen - she's voiced by a man, and I think she was totally written by men.
i love sesame street -- i think it is such a positive thing for kids to watch. i grew up watching it, and wanted to work on the show when i was a kid (designing feathery muppets, of course)

What's Sesame Street: Unpaved? I've never heard of it! Can you bring it tonight? Or no, you're not going home first, are you? Another time!

Yeah, I always wanted to be a muppeteer, although on some level I refused to consider that they were operated by mere humans.
