Snake- incredibly glad he missed this round of shenanigans, but dreading that his luck wouldn't last into the next week- found that he couldn't sleep. Obviously the answer to this was a late night smoke, standing on the balcony outside his door. He looked out at the scope of the campus, eyes narrowed, and taking long drags.
Snake closed his eyes and smirked at Miller's voice.
"Yeah. I'm beginning to think I should make this a ritual," He blew out another puff of smoke slowly. "I can't remember the last time I've been in such silence on this campus."
"...I'd hate to see it get any worse than those hallucinations." He laughed as though he were joking, but he truly meant those words.
"As for what I'm doing... You're not the only one with a nasty habit." He waved his pipe slightly. "But cigarettes? I'm surprised you don't have a cigar instead."
Snake couldn't help but laugh, before realizing that bursting out with laughter after someone mentions that they're somewhat uncomfortable maybe wasn't the friendliest thing he could have done.
"Sorry. It's just, the thought of you putting these students through the kind of drill training you put me through... if anyone needs it, it's them."
Another smile towards Miller, but a real one this time, not just a smirk.
"There's nothing wrong with being proud of what you've got." He laughed and flexed his ~glorious muscles.~ "I have a feeling you could get away with flaunting it too."

"Worse."
He opened his eyes again, bringing his cigarette up to his mouth with a loud sigh.
"What are you up to, out here?"

"I'm broke enough as it is without buying a new box of cigars every week and a half."

Snake chuckled, leaning a little further over the railing of the balcony.
"... And there's a breeze. It couldn't be better."

"I, uh, guess things could seem pretty hectic in this time period, if you weren't used to it."
There was a pause. It still felt weird to ask people questions like this.
"... Are you getting used to it?"

"You really are the same guy. Just younger."
