Snakes and Lattes
Yesterday, my leading lady and I checked out this awesome place called Snakes and Lattes. It's a café where you pay a $5 cover charge and you can play any of their bajillions of board games while sipping on a hot (or cold) beverage and getting a delicious bite to eat. We got to play Mr. Jack Pocket (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/72287/mr-jack-pocket), Bohnanza (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bohnanza), and Monkey Lab (http://www.alderac.com/monkeylab/). My personal favourite was Monkey Lab. It's simple, fast, and caused a lot of "WHY YOU! GRRR!" moments. The food and drinks were fantastic. I highly recommend their Nutella Latte. Jess let me have a sip and it was liquid heaven! The serving staff made the experience all the better. Not only were they friendly, but they also help you learn the games! It's so nice to not have to read the instruction manuals in their entirety. I don't know how many times I've fallen asleep trying to get through the giant booklet of what turns out to be a not-so-complicated game. Ha ha! Oh, and one more thing: my actor buddy Scotty works there! If you go, you should ask for him since he isn't just a fantastic performer, he's also a board game guru! :)
