*whispers* (I promise I'll stop going on about it soon)
So. One assignment finished late on Saturday night, another one well and truly underway. Adaptation from prose short story to screenplay this time, which is interesting in heaps of ways. And no sign of mexican wrestlers thus far. Which is a relief, to be honest. I don't know how much more of that I could have put up with.
As usual, the specs for the exercise are far too vague. The entire brief reads as follows:
The Project is to be devised in consultation with the programme convenor. Consider team projects, projects relating to adaptation, translation, performance; to agenting, publishing, bookselling, teaching; to editing on paper and on line. There will be 'established' project work relating to the on-line student magazine, the Resource Centre, PN Review etc. The Project is something the student or group of students devise in response to their own creative interests.
There isn't even any indication of a desirable wordcount. *shakes head in despair*
I've done a lot of reading around for this one, since screenplay is a thing I know not well at all. Surprised and slightly frightened by how many rules and formulae there are... The reading I'll come back to. I have pimpage to do. Unashamed pimpage. But I'll leave that for another time. Perhaps.
For the moment, I feel like I'm swimming in circles, looking for the side of the pool.
