Yesterday was a really informative, quite enjoyable, totally exhausting day. I went to bed late because Travis randomly decided to show up and console Jenn at Beerworks. Which, of course, dicated that Em and I also go to Beerworks, despite having to be up at 6:30 to be in Boston by 8:30 to see if Wycliff really is what we want to do with our lives.... So we went to Beerworks, and I didn't get back and into bed until 12:30 something. Even then, I could still hear everyone downstairs....sleep happened.
6:30 I wake up, shower, get things together not only for the day in Boston but also for the 5 mile run that I must do at some point today. I get to Gordon, pick up Chris, drive to Peabody, pick up Emily, and we get on the T at Wonderland. We get to Park Street in plenty of time, eat some bagle, drink some tea/coffee, talk to some people, and begin.
The whole Explore Wycliff session was incredibly helpful and informative! I feel so much better about moving forward with this course of action than I had previously--and I had been pretty sure about it previously. I'm not sure how I feel about relying completely on support, but as was said numerous times: "If you trusted God for your salvation, you can trust Him with your support." or, in a similar vein, "If God called you, He'll provide for you." That was encouraging and frightening all at the same time. As was looking at the huge chart of languages still without Scripture, one of which is a Gypsy Welsh dialect. Woo...Wales. (Even if we didn't end up there, it's very reassuring that Wales is on the list.)
So, even though I'm not ready to apply to Wycliff right away, I feel confident in that direction.
Meg, you and Tim should look into the pilot program.
