Get out and Vote!

I don't care who you vote for, just go out and do it. If you don't like either candidate, write one in. If your "choice" is not voting at all or you are too apathetic to vote, I don't want to hear a peep out of you for the next 4 years.

I went online and called several times this morning to figure out where I was suppose to vote. For some reason my voter's registration card was still going to my parent's address and under my maiden name and I of course waited until the last possible moment to figure out what I could do about it. Of course on the phone I could never talk to a live person (each time I was transfered to a "live person" the line was busy and would hang up). Finally I went with Ed to the place where I should vote for my current address. Ed was able to vote but I was not. Then we drove to the tax assessor's office to re-new the tags on Ed's car. We ate lunch at Mama's Cafe. We started off with tortilla soup and fried mushrooms. Ed had chicken fried chicken and I had grilled trout. Tasty.

After lunch we drove all the way to St. Rose over by my parent's house so I could vote. It was quick and easy now that it's all touch screen.

We headed over to Wally World to pick up a surge protector and put gas in the car. If you have a Wally World near you with a gas station in it I highly recommend getting a gift card inside and using it at the pumps to pay. It will save you 3 cents per gallon which is quite a bit of dough with gas prices so high.

We're taking a break at home right now but will be running off to the dealership to drop my car off. Apparently I've got an oil leak. Good thing I bought a 6 yr extended warranty last year.

Things with me are okay. It still sucks but I'm dealing with it. I happened to see online at the local news site that there were 45 children adopted here in Bexar county yesterday. I wish I would have known sooner. For more on the story see here. This really got me thinking so I contacted several adoption agencies online this morning for info. Apparently you can write off about $10,000 of an adoption on your taxes. We're still going to try the invitro but we need to see if Audrey can be a candidate for donation.

Ed took the whole week off and I took off 4 days this week (not able to take off the whole week), Tues, Wed, Sat, and Sun. This break couldn't come at a better time.
