Take out the clown!

Every time I see a costume character or mascot, I always go up to some little kid and say, "Psssst, I'll give you 20 bucks to tackle him." I haven't had any takers yet. But if I did, this is what it would look like

Had to take Aurra to the vet this morning. She was shaking and panting. She could barely hold herself up. Come to find out she has eclampsia due to nursing the puppies. They are 5 weeks and we started giving them puppy food and water but they still try to nurse too. Basically they are draining her blood of calcium. It was a little scary because I wasn't sure if she had gotten into some household chemical and had gotten poisoned or what. The vet knew right away what it was but it's quite rare nowadays so he only had half a dose of calcium to inject into her. He looked all around but didn't have anymore so he called over to the vet down the street and he had some. I still had to pay $36 for this visit.

I drove down the road, Aurra shaking the whole time, and brought her to the other vet. He gave her 3 vials of calcium into the vein really slowly. After that she was doing okay but still shaking a little. We waited ten minutes and gave her one more vial. She's fine now. She ate some soft dog food and drank water while we were there and he gave her a bottle of calcium/vitamins for at home. I say "gave", they were $35, making the total bill there $83. Plus the bill from the other vet and the $805 bill for her emergency c-section.... Damn these puppies are costing us almost $1000. mrobenee_kelley said that we are going to have to advertise them as miniature-miniature ponies and sell them for like $4000 a piece to make a profit.

At least everything is fine now and she's fixed so she can't have anymore pups. We just have to keep them separated from her so they don't nurse. The vet said if we can't keep them apart we could try putting band-aids on her nipples. That's kinda funny. Wouldn't work though, she'd take them off. Good thing the ad's in the paper tomorrow.

It's raining and I'm hungry.
