My day was almost perfect. I spent the day with my mom today. I went to her house around 11am with the weiner dogs. Of course as soon as I get there who calls? Sea World. Apparently there was an issue with a family who had been there before and who ruined their t-shirts and Sea World was getting them back in for free (they were from Houston) and wanted us to make new shirts and all this crap. I just said give them whatever I don't care. Obviously they bitched enough to get free passes back into Sea World and other Sea World merchandise besides ours as well. I didn't want to deal with it. Just give them whatever the Sea World merchandise MOD says. I just wanted a day off from all this crap. So we went to Johnny Carrino's with a bunch of women from mom's work for lunch for birthdays and a going away party. So what happens as soon as I get there? My brother calls from Sea World saying the printer wouldn't print and he was getting an error message. Did he even try to do anything to fix it before calling me? Yeah, he tried printing the picture again. Did that work? No. Did they (because there were 2 of them there) look on the problem solving sheet before calling? No. Did they try turning off the programs and getting back into them before calling? No. Did they try re-booting the computers? No. All that needed to be done was getting out of the programs and restarting them. Not even restarting the computers, just the programs. There was no reason for them to call. Just think things through. My brother has worked for me for 5 years. I asked him why he couldn't figure this out for himself. His answer was that this particular problem had never come up. Does that mean he is soo dumb he can't try restarting a program. I thought kids today grew up on computers and were soo savvy about them. Mind you he is a smart kid. He was in the Science Academy in high school and took all honors classes and just graduated. I also pay him $7 an hour. That's more than regular seasonal sea world managers get paid. I feel he should be able to step up and take some responsibility, make decisions, and get things done himself. I was so mad and frustrated and I told him so. He knew I wanted peace and quiet today. I told him how stressed I was and we both started yelling and I started crying in the lobby and he hung up on me, which really pissed me off and just made me cry more because I was soo stressed. After that the rest of the day was great, of course I kept checking my phone constantly to see if they had called. Lunch was good. I had Chicken Scallopini with mushrooms, bacon and tomatoes. Mom and I split a tiramisu. It was awesome. They make theirs in house. it was very light and tasty.
Afterward we went Garden Ridge Pottery which is a huge place that sells everything from garden stuff to decorator things, greenery, lots of stuff. You can get lost in there it's soo big. Then we went to the movies to see Pirates of the Caribbean with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. Mom wanted to see it. I hadn't even seen a preview for it. I've never been to Disney Land or World so I really had no clue what it was about. If you don't know, it's based on the ride by the same name. I had read a little review the day before about how the Disney execs were afraid that Depp had gone too far with the character. Let me tell you something it was fricking awesome. I loved it! Depp was great. I'm not a fan of his in particular but this movie was funny and fantastic and full of action and all the characters were good. The story was entertaining. Depp reminded me a little of Hunter S. Thompson in Fear and Loathing in this film. He was a little wacky and flamboyant, but not over the top. It suited the character well. I will definitely be buying it on DVD. It usually takes me a second showing to really like a movie especially when I see it at the theatres. But I liked it. Bloom was great too.
We went back to my parents house after the film. My mom was raving the whole time about how funny it was. It's not that it's a comedy so much, or ha ha laugh track funny, just situational and certain lines and the characters... Anyhow my sister came over and brought my niece Amber who just brightens my day. We had hamburgers and then we all went swimming. My brother Matthew, his girlfriend Cassidy and Matthew Aguilar (who also works for me) went too. Even Obi got in. It's a 4ft deep above ground pool with a deck so Obi can't reach the bottom or get out by himself and he's never really swam before. We had him in a couple of times and carried him around (he just wants to be with people) and he would swim to the edge and we'd help him out or he'd try to get up the ladder. Cronus my parent's dog just sat on the edge of the deck and barked the whole time. Aurra our other weiner dog is pregnant again so she just sat on the deck or in the grass quietly. Everyone was distracted either playing volleyball or with Amber when all of a sudden Audrey said "Look at Obi!" Somehow he managed to get on the boogie board and was floating out in the pool all by himself. I don't know if he jumped in or fell in or jumped onto the boogie board or what. What a crazy little dog. It was the funniest thing.
After we got out of the pool Audrey and mom got in the shower in their suits with Amber (who was naked, she's only 16 months old). So then dad jumped in and I jumped in. And then dad got out and Cassidy and Matthew jumped in. Amber thought it was soo funny. We were all laughing soo hard. Yes we all had our swim suits on. The only one that didn't get in was Aguilar. There was no more room. ha ha! He's not family anyway.
We watched some TV and then I went home. All and all it was an awesome day. I needed this. :D
