“Where is he?!” Heejun screamed at the guards! “How could you let him escape?!”
One of the heads CEO of Steel Corporation was highly upset. Inmate 180288 had escaped.
Nothing like this had happened before. They needed to know where the mistake was and how to fix it. Changmin was the strongest of his kind at the moment, but more of them could get out and that was a risk they couldn’t let happen.
“Brother, calm down,” Taejun the other head of the corporation, said swinging his legs from over the couch arm. “We’re gonna get him back no matter what. He had the SM membrane on his back so he can’t use his little helpers.” He turned to the masked guards. “Inform me every detail of our situation.”
One of the guards cleared his voice and took a shaky step forward. “Um, the inmate killed General Kim. And the guards at his cell were killed as well.”
“What?!” Heejun asked perplexed. “How they were killed?”
“The guards were dismembered, and General Kim was decapitated,” the guard informed in a clear voice.
Heejun’s eyes widened in realization and horror. “He used them! He doesn’t have the SM membrane anymore!” He screamed, looking back at his twin brother: Taejun.
Taejun sighed. “Calm down, little brother. We can figure this out, maybe we even can get him back alive,” he said in a controlled tone. Taejun had always been the one to have a cold head in this kind of situations. “Call Kyuhyun in here.”
“Kyuhyun? Cho Kyuhyun? The scientist in charge of project Phoenix?” Heejun asked a bit confused. “We should call Mr. Kang. He was in charge of inmate 180288.”
“Kyuhyun is the one that understands them better. He had years researching them,” Taejun explained. “And I’m sure he will do everything in his hands to get him back.”
“I want him alive Taejun,” Heejun said as he reached for the phone. “Call Cho Kyuhyun. Tell him to be in Lee Taejun’s office ASAP,” he told the secretary.
TaeJun stood up. “All of you, get out now,” he commanded to the guards with his hand.
They bowed down at them and proceeded to exit the office.
10 minutes later the secretary told them that Kyuhyun had arrived and they told her to let him in and don’t disturb them no matter what.
“Good night, Kyuhyun,” Taejun greeted with a serious face. “Take a seat.”
Kyuhyun bowed politely at the twins. “Good night,” he greeted as well and did as told. He knew why he had been called. He had heard what was happened. There was no way not to. The whole facilities were in chaos as people were sent to take a look at the security measures they had.
“As you may know by now, inmate 180288 escaped a few hours ago. We already sent a group of scientists and specialists to check on the security to find what happened,” Taejun explained, laying back in his seat and crossing his legs. “Our main goal now is to find Changmin. We cannot let him out in the world.”
Kyuhyun nodded. He knew exactly why they were so worried. After all he was worried as well. “It’s that why I’m here?” He asked, looking at Taejun in the eyes. He turned to see Heejun who was smiling devilishly and groaned internally.
“Do whatever it takes to bring him back alive,” Heejun said, and Kyuhyun nodded.
He hated that guy, but there was nothing he could do. “I’ll do what I can, but you have to understand that Changmin is very unstable. He is very powerful and he is vicious. I’m afraid we will have to kill him,” Kyuhyun explained.
Heejun rolled his eyes. “Ok, ok. I get it. Kill him if you have to,” he finally let go of the matter.
Taejun smiled at his brother’s antics. Heejun had always been fascinated by the inmate and nobody could pinpoint why. He turned to look at Kyuhyun. “I’ll hire the best mercenaries out there to capture him or kill him. They will be under your direct command so you’re the responsible one now. Meaning your head is on the line if this fails.”
Kyuhyun nodded. “Ok, sir.”
“You can go now. And I hope you don’t disappoint us, Kyuhyun,” Taejun said as he dismissed the man.
Kyuhyun stood up and bowed again. “I won’t. Now, excuse me.” He turned and exited the room.

“Listen to me carefully. You have to be extremely cautious. Inmate 180288 is not someone to be taken so lightly. He has killed 26 people in matter of seconds so he can be vicious,” Kyuhyun explained to the team of mercenaries that were in front of him. There were 10 and all of them listened to them carefully. “He looks like a normal person but he isn’t. He is a diclonius, a genetic modified human, a mutant. You can recognize his kind because they have colorful scales on their collarbones.”
“How do we stop him? How does he kill?” The leader of the team asked, as if he was thinking this was going to be a piece of cake.
“You have to put this on his back,” Kyuhyun responded, as he gave them a big jar that contained something that looked like some kind of fabric. “You have to put this on his back and then wrapped him with it. As if he was a mommy per say.”
The guard at the very back laughed at this.
“And this is top secret, so no civilian can see you when you capture or kill him, unless you want to die as well, ok? Now go!” Kyuhyun commanded.
They all nodded and Kyuhyun dismissed them. This was going to be a very long day.
Last night he couldn’t get even an hour of sleep. He rubbed his eyes and leaned back on his seat as the team went out of his office. Sometimes he wondered how he had chosen a life of researching instead of a normal one.
He closed his eyes and was about to doze off a little, when a deep voice woke him instantly.
“Why didn’t you tell them?” the voice asked.
Kyuhyun looked at the tall boy that had just entered his office. He sighed. “It was you, right?” He asked back. “You let Changmin out.”
The boy looked down at Kyuhyun with scared eyes and then to the floor. “I-I…”
Kyuhyun huffed. “Have you any idea of what’s going to happen now?! Changmin’s not like you, Chanyeol! He is very unstable! He-” Kyuhyun reclaimed the boy in the most silent way he could. If someone knew what had really happened both would be in real trouble. “5 months, Chanyeol. 5 months is the time in which Changmin could kill every human being on the planet, eliminate the whole human race.”
“He’s not a monster,” Chanyeol mumbled back. “I know he won’t do it.”
“Understand that he’s not like you, Chanyeol. He’s been through a lot. He’s not empathic with humans, he has demonstrated so on several times,” Kyuhyun explained with a sad smile. “I’m afraid of what’s to come.”
Chanyeol bit his lower lip. “Then, why did you send the team to their own death?” he asked. “If you want him to be captured, why didn’t you tell them?”
Kyuhyun smiled. “Because I want you to find Changmin. We have to prevent him from killing. And if he doesn’t cooperate, then you kill him.”
Chanyeol looked down. “He’s stronger than me.”
“But your vectors are longer than his,” Kyuhyun reasoned.
“I can’t localize him. I don’t know why,” Chanyeol said now looking at Kyuhyun.
Kyuhyun frowned at that. Diclonius had been always able to feel each other’s presence. No diclonius could hide from another of their kind.
‘I know where he is. Take me with you.’
Chanyeol felt something. Diclonius didn’t have telepathy powers, it was more of feelings and instincts that help them communicate even if they were separated by long distances.
‘How come you know and I can’t feel him?’
‘My bond with him is stronger. You can’t feel him because he’s not being Changmin completely.’
Chanyeol nodded. He felt what the right thing to do was. “Kai can help us. He knows where Changmin is.” He turned to look at Kyuhyun, who frowned even further.
“I trust you, but I don’t trust Kai,” Kyuhyun said. He sighed really loudly. “We have enough with one diclonius on the loose.”
Chanyeol looked a little hurt and Kyuhyun knew exactly what the matter here was. “I’m not talking about you. You are different from them.”
‘But I’m still one of them. I’m not a human,’ Chanyeol thought sadly. “I know.”

Yunho woke up and stretched on the couch. “Fuck,” he groaned. He sat up and starched his arms in the air once again. “My neck is sore,” he added, looking around confused before remembering that he had a guest in his bedroom. “Might as well get some food,” he said smiling.
Before he could get off the couch, he turned to the doorway of his bedroom only to find his guest standing there and rubbing his eyes.
‘Cute,’ Yunho thought. “Good mo-“ he never got the chance to finish his sentence, because it was until now that he noticed Max was again naked, and he didn’t even looked like he cared one bit.
“Um, Max,” Yunho stuttered. “Could you…” he said, trying to complete the phrase with his hands, simulating that he had to cover with something.
Max looked confused and tilted his head slightly. “Cold. Please…” the young man whispered. “Cover…”
Yunho smiled in understanding. He got up from the couch and walked to his room, passing beside Max who was still confused with everything around him.
“Let me get you some clothes,” Yunho said as looked into his closet. He threw some clothes to his bed and when he turned to the doorway, Max was nowhere to be seen.
Suddenly, he heard a loud scream. “Yunho! What the fuck is this?!”
The older man ran to the living room in no time and suppressed a groan. ‘Shit! I totally forgot she was going to come back today!’ He thought, mentally smacking himself for being always like this.
BoA, his roommate, who was usually a nice and sweet girl, was more likely livid at the moment. She glared at both Yunho and Max.
Max backed up at the unknown person, flinching slightly.
“I leave for three days to a science conference and your…bed partner is walking around the house naked!” She exclaimed angrily. “I thought we had an agreement! All I wanted was to sleep all day long, but thank you for scaring my dear sleep away!”
She huffed and walked towards Yunho, who flinched as she hit him lightly on the head. She was somehow glad that finally Yunho had someone over to their house that wasn’t Donghae! “You’re so dead!” She exclaimed.
BoA was about to add something when suddenly she felt something horribly wrong. She couldn’t breathe as much as she tried to gasp for air. She couldn’t even move and there was this heavy feeling in his chest and neck that was starting to get painful.
Yunho watched in horror as his friend seemed to be in pain. He didn’t know what was happening, so he grabbed her.
BoA could see that the man in front of them was looking at her coldly. That glance sent shivers to her spine. She saw him smile evilly.
“Max! Help me!” Yunho yelled at Max desperate to find what was wrong with his friend.
Max blinked and shook his head. He looked down at them with worried eyes and ran towards Yunho, who was still holding his friend.
Both held her up and she coughed a few times, trying to recover herself for whatever that that had been.
“Are you ok?” Yunho asked concerned.
She looked at him and nodded. BoA glanced at the man Yunho had just called Max and gulped. He was looking at her with concern as well, but the eyes looked way different that the ones she had stared at seconds ago.
“I-I think so…” BoA responded as she fully recovered.
She bit her inner cheek and turned to Max. “I-I don’t know what that was, but thank you. I’m BoA. I’m Yunho’s roommate,” she said, trying to avoid the fact that Yunho’s ‘friend’ was naked.
Max smiled at her warmly, eyes becoming mismatched. “Max,” he whispered.
Yunho’s heart stopped. ‘Those eyes…’
