Chapter 7
Junsu knew something was up with Changmin. He had asked the boy to come with him to the mall to buy some things he needed for the store and Changmin had just nodded uninterested even though Junsu had said he was going to pay for the breakfast!
The whole time Changmin had been more pensive than ever and hadn’t complained about how hungry he was after a couple of hours. That was why Junsu was worried now.
“Hey, kid. You ok?” Junsu asked from across the table, making Changmin come back from his thoughts. “You haven’t touched your food.”
Changmin looked at his plate and then to Junsu. “He’s moving to another apartment and asked me to move in with him,” he said to his friend without a second thought. He was confused and just needed the point of view of a good friend. And who would be better than Junsu?
Junsu looked at his friend with a confused expression while grabbing his can of coke. “We’re talking about Yunho, right?” He asked.
Changmin rolled his eyes. “Of course we are, dolphin! Who else would have asked me to move in with them?!” He answered, finally taking the chopsticks to start eating like he normally would. God! He hadn’t noticed how hungry he was until now!
“Then what’s the problem?” Junsu asked again, not getting why Changmin was acting like that. “You practically do live together! He’s always at your place or you’re at his. It was only a matter of time.”
Changmin sighed. “No, you don’t get it,” he started. “Don’t you think it’s too soon?” he asked, leaning back in the chair and passing a hand through his hair. “We’ve been together for only 5 months.”
“So?” Junsu retorted before taking a mouthful of his naengmyeon. “We both know it’s not about the time. Just tell me what’s the real problem.”
Changmin looked at his japchae and took some with his chopsticks. “I’m in love with him, Junsu.”
Junsu snorted. “Not that I didn’t notice that already, Min. But…exactly how come that’s the problem? You should be jumping in happiness.” He took another mouthful of his food and looked expectantly at his friend.
Changmin lip his lower lip and looked down. “What if he’s just doing it because he wants to recreate what he had with Jaejoong and not because he really wants us to be living together? And he is still married!”
Junsu couldn’t believe his ears. “Changmin-ah, are you sure you’re IQ is 150? Because you sure don’t seem like it!” Junsu said, gaining a glare from his friend, and he knew he was about to earn a smack as well but he didn’t really care. “You’re a neat freak, always nagging and complaining about everything at home, and Yunho knows that! Believe me, he must not only love you, but also worship you to be willing to actually live with you!”
Changmin punched his friend in the arm, even though he had to accept his friend was right. Kyuhyun had several times said that living with him was a true pain in the ass, and Changmin didn’t even nag that much at Kyuhyun, since his best friend was a neat person as well!
He smiled and shook his head at his own doubts and stupidity. Junsu was right.
“I’m such an idiot, dolphin!” Changmin told his friend. He took a bite of his japchae for the first time since it had been served and smiled. “Yunho’s not that kind of man, and I should give him more credit for all the sappy things he usually do for me. But still, I need to talk to him about his divorce.”
Junsu nodded. “Just don’t pressure him.”
“Oh, I will. I’m not gonna live with a man that is still married,” Changmin added a bit angrily.
Now that he thought about it, maybe, that was one of the main reasons he was still insecure: the fact that Yunho hadn’t done anything to start the divorce. What if he still unconsciously wanted Jaejoong to go back?
Changmin shook his head, trying to get rid of such silly thoughts. He was positive that Yunho wouldn’t break his heart.
*****
Changmin was about to knock on the door, when it suddenly opened. He blinked a couple of times and tilted his head slightly. “How did you know I was at the door?” He asked with a smile on his face.
“Taepoongie is good in letting me know whenever you’re near,” Yunho responded, laughing. He leaned into the other man and kissed him on the lips before standing aside so the younger could come in.
Taepoong was in front of Changmin, waiting for the man to pet him in the head, and that was exactly what Changmin did. “Hello there, buddy!” he said to the dog, coming into the house and taking off his shoes. “Sorry, but Mangdoongie stayed at home this time,” he added as Taepoong started to look around for his tiny friend.
Changmin had introduced the two dogs and they got along very well. Yunho had joked that when they were together it was like watching themselves because Mangdong would be usually bossy and got irritated easily, while Taepoong was laid back and playful. Changmin had smacked Yunho for implying he was like a girl, since Mangdong was a female.
The moment he stood up again, he started sniffing something in the air. It smelled weird. “Yun, did you cook something?” he asked, turning to look at his boyfriend.
Yunho nodded and smiled awkwardly. “I tried to, but it all ended up just wrong in every level!” He exclaimed as they walked towards the kitchen.
Changmin threw his backpack somewhere while passing the living room and started laughing at the sight of the kitchen. “Oh my God! Did you tried to make a bomb or what?”
Yunho rubbed his neck and sighed. “Hey! It’s not that bad! I’ll clean it later!”
“You should have told me! I would have helped. I mean, I’m not the best cooker but at least I can make some edible stuff,” Changmin said, ready to start cleaning the mess in order to cook something for dinner.
“I know! But I wanted to make a romantic dinner for both!” Yunho pouted. “I even bought red wine, and fortunately that was the only thing that could be saved.”
Changmin rolled his eyes. “Ok, then let’s see what can we cook for dinner.”
“Stop! Don’t clean! I said I would, and I will. And for the dinner part, I already ordered pizza, it should be here in any moment,” Yunho announced happily, grabbing Changmin by the arm and pulling him closer.
“Red wine and pizza, huh? What a romantic combination!” Changmin teased, laughing at how odd his boyfriend could be at times.
Yunho was about to respond to that when he heard the doorbell. “Must be the pizza, Min. Be right back in a minute,” Yunho said, checking that he had his wallet is his jeans’ back pockets. “And don’t clean! I will!”
Changmin nodded and walked towards the living room as he watched his boyfriend go for their food. The moment he sat on the couch, Taepoong came and laid down at his feet.
Yunho came back in no time with the pizza box in hand. He put it on the coffee table and went to the kitchen for the bottle of wine and two glasses. He put the items on the table as well, and turned to look at Changmin, who was looking at him with a serious expression.
“It’s something wrong?” Yunho asked while trying to open the bottle of wine. He finally did and Changmin reached for the bottle.
“Remember what you asked me yesterday?” Changmin said as he started to pour the wine on one glass.
Yunho gulped and nodded. “Of course I do.”
Changmin smiled and handed Yunho the now half full glass. “Yes, Yun. I’d love to move in with you. But only with one condition.”
Yunho took the glass and grinned from ear to ear as he hard his boyfriend’s response. “Whatever you want, Min!”
Changmin put the bottle on the coffee table as he finished pouring his own glass and looked up at Yunho. “I want you to divorce.”
Yunho was glad he wasn’t drinking because he was sure he would have spit the wine. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to divorce, because he did. He was just shocked that Changmin brought it up, and to be honest, it made him a little anxious to know he had to actually talk and see Jaejoong again. He was sure he loved Changmin. But, still…he kinda dreaded having to have any kind of contact with Jaejoong.
His mind started to form a lot of what ifs. ‘What if when he saw Jaejoong he would still feel something?’ was the one he feared the most.
Yunho sighed and nodded, grabbing Changmin’s hand and squeezing it reassuringly. “I’ll do it, then. I love you, Changmin,” he said sincerely. His heart started beating faster as he watched his boyfriend smile. ‘No need to be worried, Yunho,’ he thought.
“I love you, too,” Changmin responded, leaning in and capturing Yunho’s lips with his own.
