This crew has tipped you the black spot in full council…
Black spots, says I, abound. There are quite a few on the bathroom walls and ceiling, well into the paint and plaster. They’ve appeared over time, slowly at first, here and there, then you realize how many there actually are! A losing battle. I spritzed them with vinegar today, as well as bleach, to see which did better at cleaning with scrubbing; bleach seemed most effective and tomorrow I’ll use that to wash down the wall and spray the swirl ceiling. All a prelude to Kilz and painting.
I removed the fan assembly and cleaned its ceiling housing. I debated how to get all the crud off of the actual unit, like using little brushes in the motor and squirrel cage, and remembered that I could just blow it out with the air compressor.
In a box after cleaning. I think the fan will work well now, but, if not, I did realize I don’t need to replace the whole unit and can just order a replacement motor. I found the needed number online: the part number had changed. 7163-5235 was superseded by D1160. Durrr.

Still doing my Lunch-Bunny draws. This is about the extent of my art these days.
It makes me smile.
