I watch the day pass in faces.
Alerts, chimes, bus engines.
The voices that once would comfort me
No longer an escape.
The muscle not used will atrophy.
But walking on a broken leg
Makes therapy unbearable.
When you get here, you can meet Little Brother Hachi. You'll like him. He's smart, even if he acts like a doofus. He plays fetch. He's getting better at catching things in the air. And he's sweet and adorable.
