Making a new character is fun~
Guys, I'm excited.
I'm working on actually developing my Asari character.
For those of you who don't know, I hate Asari. Vehemently. I consider the Asari to be the main embodiment of all the sexism that I see in the Mass Effect series. Unfair? Maybe. I feel it's justified, but then, if I didn't I probably wouldn't be blaming them to begin with. But I also know that not everybody agrees. And that's cool. I'm okay with that.
But one of the things that I really, really want to see done is a gender confused Asari.
So tonight I sat down and made a list of every Asari name I could find from the actual official source materials. And then I copied down a list of every (intelligent) species from the series. Took out anything that can't or wouldn't pair off with an Asari. And then I started reading all the biology, culture, religion, etc. notes I could find on them, further eliminating races that I don't think would well fit my characterization thus far - that I can't see filling the role I require to make this work - and tomorrow I'll finish that step. Right now I'm leaning towards a Drell. ♥ Asari needs a daddy. >:3
Once I've got a first official draft of backstory (bonus points if I can make myself draw), I'd love - LOVE - to get some feedback from my MassEff-fan friends~ ♫
