Ayaami Mahariel: of Hallas and Heartbreak

Soooo. Looks like I missed the entire Frostback Mountains section of the game. Let's get caught up quick...

The Haven went well as we can expect. Kept her nose clean and tried not to make eye contact with the natives for a good long while. Of course, then she had to run back and clear the town so it was safe to move Genetivi. She decided the cultists were delusional crazies and chose not to listen to them, for good reason. Then she had a confrontation with Tamlen... kinda... and was absolutely useless in the mirror battle. Then... ugh, then game mechanics made Alistair into a pervert. I sent him out of the room for the walking-through-fire thing and the cutscene just set him right back beside me. AYAAMI IS NOT COMFORTABLE WITH PEOPLE SEEING HER IN HER SMALLCLOTHES. ESPECIALLY THE BOY SHE DOESN'T KNOW SHE'S IN LOVE WITH. ... Moving on. I had to yell at him and send him out in the hall again.

ALSO! It should be noted that having a Ranger in your party for the ghost bridge makes it like, ten times easier! You can still only push 3 tiles at a time, but it's so much simpler to use a summon so you don't have to keep running back and forth. Fen'Hahren was a godsend, here. ♥

Anywho, I told Genetivi it was dangerous up ahead and we went on our merry way.

To Orzammar.

Did I say merry? ... ugh, that was faulty information... Anywho. Told Brother Burkel good luck with his lost cause, backed Harrowmont 'cause Bhelen's campaign strategy was bullshit, and took Oghren along for the sake of getting things done faster. Left Whatshisname McCrazypants to his machinations in the Deeps, decided to help Caridin because, well, if he thinks it's too dangerous..... he's probably right. Offered Oghren Caridin's boon, broke the anvil (How do you break an anvil with a single swing of a hammer, WTF?!), told the assembly that Caridin left it to me, and crowned Harrowmont.

Then it was off to the Brecilian forest.

Just being there, surrounded by her people (albeit not her clan), put Ayaami at peace. She was calmer and more carefree than she'd been the whole time. A day wasted away just greeting and sharing with them, under the guise of preparing.

That night, Alistair told her that she meant a lot to him, asked if she might feel the same. Especially in the current mood of extended family, she misunderstands this as an expression of comradery, tells him she does feel the same way. Then he kisses her. And she turns him down. Then it's time to go, to move on, keep moving forward. She can't think about her and Alistair right now. So it's into the forest, to find a werewolf and cut out its heart.
