Counting my blessings

The damage wrought by Sandy is insidious. I like that word. Central New Jersey appears bright and cheery in the sunshine, but so many people are dealing with power outages and damage to their homes, trying to get around without traffic lights and avoiding streets closed off by downed trees and power lines

That's beautiful, Mom. As my gas tank gets lower and lower, I try and remember that this is not a real problem. If I have to, I'll take a nice, warm bus from my nice, warm apartment to my job I'm so lucky to have. No big whoop. People have died. People are homeless. I'm blessed and incredibly fortunate.
