Tegoshi loved soccer. Nothing could beat the tension and excitement during a match or the hard training, and even after all these years, Tegoshi’s passion for the sport hadn’t lessened at all. He just couldn’t get enough of it, training with several teams, competing in many different tournaments and even watching matches he had recorded; it just wouldn’t ever bore him. Even though he was a busy person, he always found time to practice with his friends, even when he had to sacrifice his important sleeping-time in order to be able to. But hey, it was definitely worth it.
In Tegoshi’s mind, nothing was more refreshing and stimulating than a hard soccer-practice late at night after a day full of hard work. It was his way of relaxing and work through all the stress and things that worried him, and he always felt better afterwards. And even after a tiring and hard day, Masuda always accompanied him. It still surprised Tegoshi that Masuda almost always followed him to his trainings, came to see all of his matches, and listened to his over-passionate talk without complaints, even though the other boy really wasn’t that interested. It made Tegoshi happy, and he couldn’t wish for a better boyfriend, really.
Masuda was there today too, watching Tegoshi’s every movement from beside the field and handing him his water-bottle whenever he wanted it. Just by having Masuda there, Tegoshi felt even more psyched up than usual, and of course he tried to show off when Masuda watched him. Nothing could beat the proud face his boyfriend showed him when he had done something better than usual, and Tegoshi never got tired of hearing Masuda’s compliments, no matter how often he said them.
When the practice was over, Masuda followed Tegoshi to the dressing room. He used to always do that, and Tegoshi still hadn’t figured if it was because he wanted company or if he just wanted to see Tegoshi change clothes. Not that it really mattered, Tegoshi was fine with both.
After a short while they were alone in the room, and Tegoshi could only smile when Masuda embraced him from behind, kissing his bare shoulder. “You were great today.”
Tegoshi smiled, grabbing one of Masuda’s hands and bring it to his lips, kissing his knuckles softly. “Thanks.”
Masuda leaned his head on Tegoshi’s shoulder, soft hair brushing against his cheek. Tegoshi just closed his eyes and relaxed, feeling complete and safe. He was sure that they could have stayed like that forever if it hadn’t been for the door to the room opening suddenly, one of Tegoshi’s team-mates rushing in, grabbing something he had forgotten. Masuda had backed away immediately, and Tegoshi couldn’t help but giggle when seeing his bright red cheeks. He was just too adorable like that.

“Yuya, I’m tired.” Masuda whined slightly when Tegoshi turned on the TV, snuggling close to the older. “Can’t I go to sleep?”
Tegoshi looked at him, tipping his head to the side and biting his lip. “But it’s no fun watching soccer alone…And I heard that Messi is awesome in this match.”
Masuda eyed his sceptically. “It’s not like you pay attention to me anyway…And I don’t care about Messi.”
Tegoshi pouted. “But I want to be with you! We’re both so busy, and I want to spend as much time as possible with you.”
Masuda smiled and kissed his forehead, wrapping and arm around his shoulders. “If you say it like that, I guess its fine.”
Tegoshi smiled widely and rested his head on Masuda’s shoulder. “Thanks, Massu.”
“No problem.”
Tegoshi wouldn’t have judged Masuda if he had gone to bed instead of staying with him, he seriously wouldn’t. He knew that he could act spoiled sometimes, and it wasn’t something he was proud of. But Masuda always stayed by his side, even though he was tired and didn’t care about soccer at all. It was somehow his way of showing how much he cared; at least that was what Tegoshi thought.
After only a short while, Tegoshi could feel how Masuda’s head fell down on his shoulder, and he heard a low snore coming from him. Tegoshi just smiled, Masuda was bad at staying up late, and the fact that he thought soccer was utterly boring didn’t help much. Tegoshi lowered the sound on the TV and kissed Masuda’s hair.
“Goodnight, sweetie.” He leaned his cheek against Masuda’s soft hair and sighed happily. “But Messi was still awesome.”
