Whew!

As expected, Bass Pro Shops and Circle 10 came to an settlement and like most big business, BPS is trying to use all the media coverage to their advantage. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/020509dnmetscout.1be980b0.html
A big Scout salute to everyone that helped out by passing on the word.

It's been a weird couple of days but we'll be glad when all the fuss dies down. A few good things came out of it -- some other businesses came forward and donated money to our troop. The scoutmaster and leadership core tried to talk them out of it but when the businesses insisted, they decided to go ahead and use the money for Scouterships. There are a few new scouts coming into our troop who will be able to attend summer camp now thanks to these anonymous donors.

Anyhoo, while all this has been going on, I've been prepping for my ConDFW/Furry Fiesta art shows. I don't think I'll have the time to do the big painting that I wanted to do but I'm going to try for a coupld of Dresden File character pics. Tomorrow will be insane... literally. I'm taking Paul in to take the test for his learner's permit. He's a little late -- he should have been doing it at this time LAST year. If I survive the DMV, I get to come home and bake brownies & cookies for Saturdays's UIL solo & ensemble contest being held at Paul's high school. The band parents group is running a concession stand and since I can't stand the noise (imagine high school cafeteria, chattering teenagers and multiple musicians all practicing at ONCE), this is my contribution.

So... oatmeal cookies or snickerdoodles?
