Well, the guys left for summer camp on Sunday and it's just me and the livestock.  *L* Fortunately, the resident pets are down to two dogs, a cat and a 55 gal. fish tank. I'm most occupied with the fish at the moment; the motor burned out on my filter a week or so back and the tank's been murky ever since. I did a partial water change and put fresh

On the fish forum I peak into from time to time, they told me a great way to clear murky water is to do a %50 water change everyday. *L* But with a 10gal thats easy. A 55 gal I'm thinking back be a bit more of a hassle.:)

Actually it took a couple of water changes, daily filter cleanings and finally a scant handful of aquarium salt. It's weird putting aquarium salt in a freshwater tank but it kills whatever bacteria is in the water. Most of my fish like brackish water (the brown knife, the angelfish) so it's okay.
