Well, the guys left for summer camp on Sunday and it's just me and the livestock. *L* Fortunately, the resident pets are down to two dogs, a cat and a 55 gal. fish tank. I'm most occupied with the fish at the moment; the motor burned out on my filter a week or so back and the tank's been murky ever since. I did a partial water change and put fresh charcoal in the filters so we'll see how that does. We originally got the tank as a birthday present for Paul but it's now a family thing. Currently we have a marbled angelfish (named Pig), an African brown knife, an enormous plecostomus, two albino cory cats, a Chinese algae eater, two glass catfish, two hi-fin black skirts, two gold barbs, and an assortment of serpae, black neon tetras, glowlite tetra, and harlequin rasboras.
In between the livestock-keeping, the gardening, and the housecleaning, I did allow myself a treat -- lunch at an Indian buffet. Kebab & Kurry doesn't look like much but it has the best lunch buffet in Dallas. I had a sweet lassi (Indian yoghurt smoothie), chickpeas cooked with onions & chilies, palak paneer (a spinach dish), a lentil dish, and naan bread, among other things. I find that I eat more vegetarian dishes at Indian restaurants than I used to which is probably better for me. I skip the rice pudding and dough balls in syrup for the sliced apples in mango puree that they serve on the salad bar. Very refreshing!
