A-kon Aftermath

...and what a weekend it was. Whew!

The highlights:
I sold half of the art that I put in the art show -- much better than last year!

I got to give
spotweld his sketchbook back, although it's getting tougher to spot him in a crowd. There's a lot more guys wearing kilts these days!

I also got to hang around with
shinga on Saturday. It's surprising how a redhead in a wheelchair can clear a trail. Since the original people she was going to room with bailed on her, I took Shinga back home later. I hope she's feeling all right because I didn't see her on Sunday.

I had a portfolio review with Brian Glass from WhiteWolf. He liked my character work but wanted more detailing in my background. He did, however, give me his card and said that if I could put together another portfolio, he'd be happy to see it.

I did put out flyers for the Gathering on two floors of the convention. They actually converted a hallway on the Dealer's level to a covention alley so there were a lot of people cruising thru there.

The downside:
Most of my art sold at bid price. *sighs* If I drew anime fanart, people would be bidding on it in auction.

Earlier in the year, I got asked to design a district patch for Twilight Camp -- it's a day camp for cub scouts. While I was at A-kon Saturday, my guys were setting up for twilight camp this week and they brought home their shirts and water bottles with the design on it.  ... *mommyspikenoise* ... They butchered it. I'm just sick about it and neither my husband or my sons understand why I'm upset. If the patch turns out as awful as the other stuff, I'm going to scream.

But enough of that. It's a new week -- time to get on with it.
