Elisa has agreed to post an announcement when the baby is born on her journal. Her LJ name is jojosmom. Or you can just go to my profile page and find a link to her under my friends.
The contractions have virtually stopped so I will be very surprised if baby comes before the currently scheduled date. I am still caught up in a flurry of nesting. My goal is to have virtually the entire house clean and organized for when I come home. It is slowly coming together. And the whole mouse things helped as I had to completely empty and clean multiple closets and cabinets (and had the foresight to organize at the same time). I still wish I could get the sunroom done before hand but it is not a one person project. We will see. I would also like to get our closet to the point where I can walk in it. But I have to wait for another burst of nesting energy, otherwise I just exhaust myself doing more than basic maintaince.
Our room is done or at least it is organized enough and has enough empty floor space to be compatible with my sanity. The little co-sleeper that hooks to the bed is set up with a clean sheet and there are even blankets, extra clean sheets, and diaper changing pads under it. I don't know how often baby will actually be in it but it nice to have for naps, and especially if I am really exhausted or have had alcohol or in the miraculous event we actually find the energy to have sex. The glider is also in there and even positioned so it has room to rock and is near a shelf to hold water, phone, and reading material for the countless nursing hours. The night table (with lamp) is towards the end of the bed which isn't ideal, but there was no place else to put it as I wanted the bed against two walls for baby safety reasons and I wanted the cosleeper next to me. Once I can go from lying to sitting without worrying about tearing my stitches it will be fairly accessible. It is such a long wait for the baby to figure out how to do sidelying nursing (before that I actually have to sit up everytime, hook up the nursing pillow, position baby and such).
I told my husband that as soon as my milk comes in I am going to start pumping so he can do at least one of the night feedings/diaper changes. That will hopefully give me at least one 4 hour stretch of sleep every night (depending on exactly how often this one needs to eat - I have heard stories of newborns that go more than two hours at a time but have yet to see one). He wasn't impressed with the idea but is being decent about it. Endless weeks/months of waking up for thirty minutes out of every two hours is hard to say the least, especially when you have older kids. I know I am supposed to wait until 3 weeks to introduce a bottle, but I will likely try it earlier. If baby starts having nipple confusion issues then I will stop but I have my fingers crossed.
