Christmas gifts, 2014

I opened up the faucet, so now it is going to just all pour out, I guess.  I don't know what moderation is...hence my less than svelte appearance.

Christmas is just so WEIRD with big kids.  Shopping was so incredibly hard this year.  And boring.  Maria (who will be 14 in a week) is getting a new lens for her camera, not a super expensive one, but an upgrade from the kit lens her camera came with.  She got the camera last Christmas and was thrilled with it.  She is getting a drawing portraits for beginners book and a pair of pjs.  And her stocking which will have some candy, the Bath and Body Works scent stuff she currently likes, some makeup, and hair accessories.  Zoe (who is 13 now) is getting a curtain divider for her, somewhat new, basement bedroom because it doesn't have a wall and she wants some privacy.  The laundry room is down there so we are up and down a lot and she feels very exposed.  She is getting a couple of mine craft books she asked for and pjs.  Her stocking will have the same basic stuff as Maria is getting, but heavy on nail polish instead of makeup.  Luci is getting a dress form for her sewing and costume designing adventures.  She is also getting a Manga drawing book and pjs.  And a stocking that looks similar to the other girls' stockings with some sewing supplies instead of makeup and nail polish.  Things like good scissors since she keeps losing or ruining hers.  *sigh*  Their dad is buying them all speaker/clock/docking stations for the iphones he bought them last year and charging sticks. All good gifts they will appreciate. They will get a ton of stuff from grandparents and relatives too.

It's boring to me though.  I miss dollhouses and bicycles and pretty clothes. Squeals of excitement and delight. I can't buy ANY clothes for my girls anymore because when I do they either don't fit or they hate them. They are polite, sweet girls, but I'm tired of clothes that never get worn, so I just won't do it anymore. Means they have a lot less clothing than they used to have, but they appreciate what they have I guess. Or something.

Christmas isn't about the gifts, right?

Yes, it is.
