Guacamole

So this time I said I would write about guacamole (wonder if I spelled that right..). Any ways, I always hated the stuff, but I was told I had to try some at On the Border when we went with Rosemary and Keith. Rose ordered it and they came and made the stuff fresh right at the table.

I did the right thing, I tried it. It was good. I was surprised. Then we had it again at the next convention we went to and it was good. I was really starting to like the stuff.

That was this summer, and by now I was actually craving it. So, I made some. After giving Rose a call to confirm that I actually knew what I was doing (as I was making it from what I saw, didn't look it up or anything) I bought what I needed and went to work.

It came out fantastic! Just like I remembered, only maybe a little bit more lime. Seems the lime I bought was a juciy one, when I squeezed out a quarter lime sized wedge it was as much as at least half a lime. But it seemed to work out great.

That was a few days before Christmas. I made it again the day before Chrismas eve and then again for my family get together on Christmas day. I'm getting pretty good at it. I even learned the trick to keep it from turning color (cause no matter how much lime juice you use it is still going to turn after a few hours, unless you know the trick that is).

Well, that's today's cooking lesson. I like to cook, although I regret that I don't always have time. Cooking is something I'm actually pretty good at. Now if I could just lean to sew you could all call me Suzie home-maker.... or something like that. ^_^
