Thanksgiving is a Little Late This Year

Dec 05, 2008 23:02

Better late than never I always say (mostly because I am always running late I guess). And so it was that we had a late Thanksgiving with my side of the family today.

My sister and her husband Dan had gone to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving to be with his family so now it was our turn.

Pretty uneventful as dinner with the family goes. Turkey and stuffing (I forgot to have stuffing!!), mashed potatoes, ect. And my mom made rice pudding!! It was so awesome, I had actually meant to ask her to make it and I had forgot so that was a big surprise. It was sooooo good! It had just the right amount of custardy-ness (I know that isn't a word but I couldn't help it).

Allura was so funny. She was leading Grandpa around the house telling him where to stand and not to move. I don't know how it is that someone being so bossy can be so cute.

She watched part of Polar Express on the Disney channel today and was setting up her chairs all in a row pretending it was a train. She told Grandpa he had to be part of her train (good thing he was sitting in the computer chair that had wheels on it or that would have been difficult).

She gets all the attention in my family being the only child. There are no other grand kids so she is also my sister's only niece (on our side of the family).

Well, on to the next Holiday. Why are some many of them all at the same time of year?
