I found out about a fantastic living piece of art whilst reading Alison Hoblyn's
The Scent of Water It's the interior of quite an amazing house - created by the artist Dennis Severs in Spitalfields, London's East End. It's open on set days each month and you can just turn up - pay a fee - and then you are allowed to wander and discover. You aren't allowed to speak or touch anything...but it's incredibly unique. The artist has created a time capsule set in the early 18 Century ...and allows the visitor to walk through what he describes as the frame of a painting into each room to discover what their senses allow.....
Exciting stuff! Take a look at the website - it explains it all far more clearly than I can, but one thing is certain - I'm definitely going to visit this exciting house!
Dennis Sever's House in Folgate Street, Spitalfields Happy Easter everyone!
