Some interesting tidbits from Dark Horizons today:

"Joss Whedon has given an update on the "Wonder Woman" adaptation, saying that a studio "I'm doing more rewriting on this than I am used to. Finding her was fun, and finding the structure of the film was incredibly difficult and fun. I am not bringing in any villains that anyone knows. I will not be bringing in any of the rogues gallery from the comic book. The villain is original to the film"..."

"Ron Perlman has given an update on "Hellboy: The Golden Army", saying that a studio "is pounding away at looking at the budget and has expressed a huge enthusiasm for [Guillermo] Del Toro's script and the desire to do the project. Now they're just pushing numbers around. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's announced very soon"..."

"Brian Henson has given an update on "The Dark Crystal" sequel, saying "We are trying to pull the business pieces together. That one's pretty far along. It's got a good, strong script, a great vision for how to do it and we're just trying to [put it together]"..."

iF Magazine just posted an interview with Battlestar Galactica producer David Eick who spoke for the first time about "Caprica", the spin-off prequel series he is developing.

Whilst it hasn't been greenlit yet, if it is they would begin shooting in August and at present they're about to begin work writing it.

At first their aim was to do "a style of storytelling that would be different from Galactica. We wanted something much more romantic, and much more of a soap". Then, recently they met with writer Remi Aubuchon who had his own similar idea and "Caprica" will be the melding of the two concepts.

As for the story, their original pich "dealt with a corporation and the man in charge of that corporation who in a very innocent and idealized way propagated the artificial intelligence technology that would later become [unbeknownst to him and those involved in the series] the Cylons"

and the last one

Cult TV series "The Prisoner" is to be remade into a six-part series for Sky One reports The BBC. The original series ran for 17 episodes on ITV in 1967, and starred Patrick McGoohan.

Christoper Eccleston, who recently shot to new levels of fame thanks to his involvement in the first season of the recent relaunch of classic sci-fi series "Doctor Who" has been linked with the new show's lead role.

The new series will be made by Granada from a script by Bill Gallagher, writer of the award-winning series Clocking Off. Director of programmes Richard Woolfe promised a "thrilling reinvention" of the drama about an ex-secret agent trapped in an isolated village.

"If Doctor Who set the standard, The Prisoner raises the bar. Like 24, the new series will entrap you from the opening scene. We hope it will tap into this iconic show's existing cult following, whilst creating a whole new generation of fans" he added.

Yep, it's more remakes, adaptions, sequels and prequels, but that seems to be the only thing happening in the industry nowadays. Trying to get excited about a new project is fruitless, because of Sturgeon's Revelation. Very few original shows/movies are coming through that are actually worth watching... (Deadwood & Veronica Mars being two very good, original shows)
