There is a BIG weekend ahead!

I worked fairly hard today, if a person can say that being paid to take hearing tests in a hot soundproof booth followed by four hours spent holding and playing with a four-month old baby is hard work. Both jobs can be tiring (surprisingly), because taking the hearing tests can be about as boring as watching the grass grow, and one never knows exactly what mood a baby will be in at any given time. I had a very relaxing time, holding baby Owen while he fell asleep with his head nestled on top of my chest today. For a person who hasn't experience the joy and wonder that is holding a baby (especially a sleeping baby), it's definitely not something to miss. I think one of the most relaxing places on this earth is in a comfortable velvet-covered rocking chair with a baby sleeping in my arms. : )

Now, for the weekend ahead: It's Twin Cities GLBTQA Pride weekend in Loring Park on Saturday and Sunday! For those that don't know, I organized the volunteers who will be sitting at St. Olaf's booth at the festival's College Row. I also made the contacts with staff members at St. Olaf to first gather donations and then convince the College itself to pay for the booth and application fees for the Festival. (It was a big job; I think the total cost for the booth was somewhere near $500.)

If you're at all interested in coming to TC Pride this weekend, I'll be there. St. Olaf is booth number 5046. I won't be there the whole time, but I'll probably be working my shift on Sunday morning and in the middle of the day on Saturday (if nobody else e-mails me first and signs up to be there).

Happy Pride! : )
