Finally getting LOST

May 19, 2005 20:52

I did watch "Lost" last night, but have been so busy today that not only have I not had time to post until now, but I have repeatedly found myself sprinting up or down stairs, eating while standing, and cursing under my breath at a number of innocent people. Now, however, I have calmed down and can say a few things ( Read more... )

"Love, [your name here]." You know, I jus' love the little hobbit. :-D And I cried a whole bunch, too -- Sun and Jin's make-up scene was so well done.

c) When Vincent was swimming after the raft, however, I did think for a moment of Wilson the volleyball in Cast Away, rolling off the raft and getting farther and farther away from Tom Hanks. (Which makes me wonder: how long before somebody on "Lost" starts talking to a volleyball, just as a shout-out?)
reminded me of Frodo and Sam at the end of FotR ;)

OK, yes, that would be a more obvious parallel. :)

I got quite sentimental when they showed the flashback with Boone *sniffle* still cute.

I think my favorite part was that with Sun and Jin making up before he left on the raft.
Oh I was thinking Hurley's letter read something like this "Mom, miss you, is the money still there?" or something along those lines.

My question is if the island is in fact sentient in some way why would it allow some of the people to leave so easily? I would think that something drastic would happen to the raft on the way out to sea.

And I would like to see your review on Revenge of the Sith but as I have not yet seen it either (Friday night!) I don't mind you discussing Lost :)

Ahh, but you forget, we still have part 2 of the season finale to go! I'm expecting them to come back. If there's to be a season 2 I think it pretty much relies on the failure of the raft.

There are some things that I'd like to point out.

Black Rock is a pirate ship? I'd like to think that there is a cave somewhere in the island that has a mountain of treasure lying about and in the center of it is a chest of Aztec gold.

And when Vincent swam out to the raft, was anyone else expecting him to get eaten by a giant shark or one of those swimmie dinosaurs or SOMETHING?

I can't wait for next week.

Yes. Oh, my, yes. I was stunned that he wasn't.

I was crying because I thought he was going to drown! I'm so animal-sentimental like that. After watching My Dog Skip I cried for about an hour.

So that she could help Jin learn English and communicate with the others. I do wonder what's going to happen with sounds that don't occur in Korean, though.

I think the "Why?" was in reference to "made me really sad." :) (i.e., "Don't know why it made me sad.")

But, yeah...the sound systems of Korean and English couldn't match up perfectly. Guess she just had to approximate some of it.

That was sad too, yes. Just such a sweet gesture to help him out.
