Over the past two days, I've read ~30 issues of Invincible Iron Man, starting at #8. I still have #504 to read, but...my brain isn't taking it. Yesterday night I had the most hyperactive and elaborate dreams about Captain America and Iron Man and their adventures (including one involving the Green Lantern? Stupid ads). I've noticed this new trend: since Psych, every obsession I've had causes me to dream vividly about it for about a week. I'm definitely not complaining.
Anyway, I think I should apologize for so vehemently hating Fraction and Larocca in earlier posts: I'm not sure whether I'm insane, but the art has grown on me a little (though I give most of the credit to post-veggie Tony having a beard to lessen the impact of his porn-stache). Also...Fraction's writing isn't as terrible as I made it out to be. Some zingers are really clever and the rest of his dialogue is on the better side of decent. And the Pepper/Rescue sub-plot? Not nearly as invasive as I imagined it to be. As much as it pains me to admit it, he does well at writing her character.
Had I not been so pre-disposed to hate this series, I would say that it's fricking amazing. Because I really, really enjoyed it.
Kill me now.
