So I'm doing a re-listen of TMA from the beginning and have been marathoning the episodes pretty hard, which has had some interesting effects.

1. My notes at work have gotten a lot more unbearably pretentious because I hear Jon Sims' voice in my head when I write, so my Assessment and Plans have become quite sophisticatedly worded and I'm not even the slightest bit sorry.

2. I was on call tonight, so I didn't leave until well after the sun had set and all the rest of the clinic staff had gone home. Thank god the cleaning lady stayed late and so the lights were on because as I absentmindedly started to thread my arm through my coat, it hit something and I saw hair and it was super freaky when I pulled out this super creepy doll. It turns out the clinic is doing a variation of "Elf on the Shelf" (whatever the hell that is) and will be hiding this doll in various places. There was a note attached that said something along the lines of, if you leave it somewhere else, "it will find its way back to you" and holy hell, that is NOT a statement you want to read after having listened to 35 episodes of TMA over a period of 3 days. Hell, the doll was creepy enough within the context of TMA without the note.

I was initially heart-stopped spooked, but it passed quickly and it's actually now pretty funny.

I left it--head first--on someone's chair. Hopefully they'll get a shock when they pull the chair out tomorrow morning to sit in.
