Making up in SPADES. Kinda.

It seems that whenever I have a marginally bad day, the following days make up for it and then some. On Wednesday I didn't go to class and instead went on a walk (despite my intentions to make it a run) and then, later in the day, Powderpuff practice. I actually managed to catch the football and even got a run in in which it took 3 people to yank my flag. And, as an offensive-line-gal...I can't be beat. People literally bounce off me. To be honest, though, that feeling of badass-ness is mitigated somewhat by feeling like a freak.

Then today I had voluteered for a time slot at a free clinic. I really didn't want to interact with any patients so soon after the debacle on Tuesday. It so turns out that the attending never showed, so I only had to suffer through trying to make conversation with two other med students for about an hour and a half before I got to leave.

And, instead of studying the 400 pages of material I'm going to be tested on in less than a week, I watched One Piece (the post-Enies Lobby Water 7 stuff...waiting for the crew to bring Usopp back breaks my heart everytime...). I'm planning on going to bed in a few minutes and it's not even 10 yet.

I just finished reading a "101 things you wished you knew about med school before you started" and realized that this is a pretty horrible place, full of horrible people making us do horrible things, but then I realized, only if you stress out about it. Because it seems like not many people realize that what you do today, what grade you get on one exam, how poorly you do when pimped, etc, it's only a small piece of the grand scheme. So, I'm not going to stress out (pssh, not like I have anyway). So yeah, this is probably hell and I'm still not sure I really want to be a doctor, but in lieu of any other thing that has attracted my interest, I can't think of any other way to spend my time. I might as well find the toughest challenge and master it. Then, who knows?
