There's been record amounts of pollen this week. The sidewalk is totally yellow with the stuff. No wonder I've had sinus headaches. Yuck. This is the one thing I hate about spring. Pretty flowers bring on the allergies. My singing voice will go out the window.

One of the girls from my church was on the floor where the first girl and the R.A. were killed. She didn't hear a thing, but when she went to get a shower, she saw the blood and ran right back into her room, then called her parents. The kids from my church (including the pastor's son!) who attend Virginia Tech are okay. The parents of one girl went down to the school to get her and they're on their way home. She's a lovely girl who helps out in bell choir when she's home. I'm very relieved that she and the others are okay, but God knows how they're all going to deal with this ( Read more... )

There's been a mass shooting at Virginia Tech. The latest on CNN says that there are 20 confirmed deaths with 17 more injured. The entire campus is in lockdown.

20?! How could that have happened? And why did the apparently dead gunman do it?
