Read a great quote: "Blessed be the mediators for they shall be cursed from both sides." Because neither side achieves 100% of it's agenda, the sides often feel the judgment was not "fair", overlooking the fact that fair does not equate to "you get your way". It's good to remember this fact the next time I am in the position of peace-maker. I will _not_ be thanked for my efforts, so no need to go looking for that bennie from the situation. It helps explain why so few people are will to act as a mediator (or choose to avoid conflict altogether).
And no, this is not about a particular situation. Just part of my ongoing study of human nature.
