Just a quick little update...

First off...let me say that I <3 Storvik, it's leadership and the event staff for Novice. Dun Carraig wound up conflicting with them (we were told Novice was last weekend in June and spike the one before that...only to find out THAT was the one they needed). So, the remarkable thing isn't that there was an error (HAHAHAH) but how well folks worked ( Read more... )

I'm your huckleberry...I think.

Chivalry is the code of conduct of a knight...particularly dealing with the oaths of fealty given to a liege lord.

Courtesy is thought to be gentle bearing or good manners. Often, one engages in courtesie (spelling intended) to avoid offending (even in thought) the lady whom he serves.

Where the terms get confusing is in the late 10th century with the Pax Dei movement, which specifies conduct against unarmored people (typically the clergy, women and children). This movement impacts the cultural idea of chivalry, and modifies it from strictly a "military allegiance" mindset.

And I think I just hurt my brains...

We are sorry about the mix-up, but not sorry at all about working with you and Erwin! The area is huge and we can spread out as much as we want. I really believe that Erwin and Rorik were cut from the same bolt of cloth, and they should have a blast! I envision much pomp and circumstance, clever conversation and testing the mettle of all the combatants. And being in June, we may not totally expire form the heat! Win!

Hey - I've got this crazy idea. We could have a war and whichever Barony wins can claim they held the event. :)

I think it will be an excellent event!

Does Dun Carraig have a herald? Last time I checked, the Atlantian heralds' site said yes and duncarraig.net said no. If yes, I would be happy to work with that gentle to make sure all the heraldic needs of the day are taken care of. I'm also planning to start a recruiting/shadowing campaign next month to get some deputy heralds lined up in Storvik.

If I can make a suggestion I think an artisan's row would be great again this year. It was wonderful last time it was done.
