Barbara Mertz, aka Elizabeth Peters aka Barbara Michaels has died at the age of 85.

I'll always be a fan of her many inimitable characters: Amelia Peabody and Vicky Bliss and Jacqueline Kirby, John Smythe, Radcliff Emerson, Ramses, Schmidt...RIP.
