Had the most compelling evening last night. Time spent with John and Keith and later James. I once fell off the couch I was laughing so hard. Bribed John. Keith and I poked fun. Made art with used tea bags, a dirty fork, take out box and the phrase "WHAT?!? Fuck you, language!" James and I stood outside and I took night pictures. Made a unicorn out of a box.
Then, this morning, I awoke in a blanket of calm. My pace was slow and relaxed. Talked to Ryan about where it came from, and I couldn't quite identify it, but must have stemmed from the entertaining yet productive day behind me. Who knows. Slightly unnerving, as the calm before the storm can be, but at the same time, maybe this is it.
Jajajaja. Got a placement for my photo essay class. Intense is all it will be.
I'm not technically minded enough to set it up here, but after spending the afternoon at work reading Gadamer, I accidently got distracted and discovered (again, I guess, I had seen it before, but hadn't really paid attention) the gem of the Decemberist's music video 16 military wives. Don't know much about the band at all other than the lead singer has strange pronounciation being from portland, but this video makes me want to make a movie that goes to a song. (not that song, but a song nonetheless) I've made them in my mind quite often, from Broken Chairs by Built to Spill to At Least We Tried by moby. one of these days. one of these days.
Speaking of films. The Amnesty International Film and Art festival is the weekend of April29 and May1. It is very important that if you are in the city of seattle you attend. What is more important than human rights awareness? There will be a benefit show on Friday night with local musicians, an artist gala on Saturday night, movies all day Friday and Saturday. I'll give you a link to the website once we order everything. Promises to be a good time.
And now, the exciting announcement, my landlord is crazy. I have a distinct feeling he is taking advantage of the tegan-jessi-molly household, but am not bold enough to accuse him of such.
