(no subject)
So, this weekend I rediscovered the joy of concerts. I have been holding out on them all year, for financial reasons mostly, but also just because nothing has popped out at me. Two weeks ago John, Keith and I went to the Stars concert, which was a whole lot of fun, but hadn't quite convinced me to go back to my concert-at-least-every-other-weekend self. And then, last night, Neumo's offered a free (FREE! ) concert featuring one of the most rocking bands, Electric Six. Plus VHS or Beta and Mix Master Mike. Free! Free! So I enjoyed my recently 21 self and hung out with old friends that are old. That was that. I am in love. Concerts are all I need to 1) relax 2) see friends 3) discover new music, with the added benefit of 4) getting some good old fashioned exercise. Man oh man. It's good to be back. Plus now I can go to all the bars that feature shows with no charge. Brilliant!
Other than that, I am now on W for my music. Jessi has finished the monster that is Infinite Jest. I'm editing Mock Trial. Working thirty or so at the law school. Reading and thinking about writing. It's all the same. Hanging out with my little sister. Thinking about the summer....what shall I do with my time and my energy?
And now, I shall clean my room. And then let James' parents take me for dinner and a movie. And then kick it at Bauhaus until they kick me out. Reading and some more.
Begin two week countdown to 35-40 page draft of thesis. The hardest one all quarter.
Even when it's rough, it's fantastic to be alive.
