Last minute, Leah-chan contacted me and said she wanted to come to my birthday party, all the way from Tokyo!
I called my parents on Saturday morning for the first time in ages... I really need to talk to them more often.
The party was me, Leah, Charmaine, Marianna, and Keli. I had never hung out with Charmaine before outside of mid-year conferences so it was great that she came.... we saw each other at the last conference and talked about hanging out more this year so I invited her and I was excited that she was there. We all got along well and we made delicious food and had lots of tea and watched Wayne's World. Unfortunately our homemade salad dressing fell off the kotatsu and got all over my new leggings.... we washed a bunch of stuff.... it also got on the blanket under the kotatsu and there was too much in the machine so my socks that were in there fell down into it somehow and we had to unscrew the top and reach down to get them out.... interesting adventures.
Sunday was good, Leah had to leave in the morning and Marianna left after English church but Lydia and Kim stayed after with me and Toyomi Sensei and Yumi were also there and we had dinner together.
I really did not expect presents from anyone, and somehow EVERYONE gave me something haha. And it was all stuff I will probably use and enjoy. Amazing.
I had a good day teaching today.... it was good times in 5/6 grade. We did some conversations in 5th grade and the kids could READ what I wrote on the board.... I was SO PROUD. And they had no problems doing it! It was just amazing! I taught them the word "why" today hehe. (Their main lesson recently has been "want" and "want to".)
A) What do you want for Christmas?
B) I want a ______ / ______s / money
A) Why?
B) I like _____s / I want to buy _____.
The best dialogue was either
A) What do you want for Christmas?
B) I want money.
A) Why?
B) I want to buy Tokyo Dome.
or
A) What do you want for Christmas?
B) I want money.
A) Why?
B) I want to buy Earth.
6th graders were also good today. It was my 2nd time teaching them the song Silent Night and today they were able to sing it without me leading them :)
Not to mention I did hangman with the one class that loves the "can I go to the bathroom" song.... and I made the word "bathroom" haha.... they thought it was funny.
I have been feeling a lot better than I was. I feel pretty good ^______^
Thank you to everyone that wished me happy birthday!
I have been watching lots of Soul Eater, finally. I waited forever because once upon a time I was supposed to be watching it with Dan but that was over a year ago.... finally gave in and started watching farther into the series. I really like it! Probably because it includes all the things I like haha... monsters and whatnot. Excalibur halfway amuses me and halfway frustrates me haha.
