not much of an entry here

Don't have a lot of time to write anything tonight.... church went well this morning, afterward I ate lunch with Marianna, Adam, and Lanon in a sandwich shop. Then I went Christmas shopping... I got some things for some friends of mine :3 mostly the ones that are so lovely about mailing me packages because they love me. And I got an outfit I can wear to work. I realized I mostly just have sweaters that are impossible to layer with other things.... so I wanted to get more things I can layer. I think this will be very handy for when the stoves are making classes hot but hallways are freezing. Anywho. I also got some manga.

Yes yes.... I read it already D: actually I was intending to come home on the 6:18 train but goodness I got distracted by shopping and then there wasn't any other train until after 9... so I just got home... and while I was killing extra time (and riding home on my hour-long train) I was reading it. It's called "Blue Exorcist" (kanji is 青の祓魔師 but the reading next to 祓魔師 is エクソシスト). wikipedia. I found this manga to be quite interesting. Not only was the art good, the story was well thought-out, and it is about monsters. Actually it is about demons and exorcism..... but I think it's safe to say that monster stories are my favorite, and this is close enough. This is your classic "spawn of Satan" story with Satan's son rejecting his so-called evil nature and deciding to become an exorcist. (Actually his whole family is basically exorcists and I am kind of wondering how he ended up being born a demon in the first place, because it doesn't seem like his birth father was actually Satan, merely possessed by him for a short time.) So it's like Harry Potter in some ways.... like "hey WHAT I have magical powers and now I can go to this special school to learn how to fight magical things". I am really not doing it justice by what I am saying here because I really enjoyed it. There is only one volume of this manga out, because it started this year, and I doubt it has been translated into English yet but it is being published by Jump which means it has a pretty good chance of making it, right? (EDIT: oh ho ho the wiki page I linked to says there is a second volume out this month?)

I don't know who drew this (looks like fan-art) but it came up online when I searched for a picture.

manga, shopping, nerd city, koriyama, friends!
