about my Alice costume
I went shopping today and found my dress but it's red and white gingham instead of blue.... it is basically the perfect dress, though. The style is perfect and it fits well. Then I got a bow for my hair, black and white striped socks, and a white slip. I couldn't find a lacy apron for the life of me. I got a white skirt thinking I might try to make it into an apron (though I'm not the greatest at sewing). Then I realized there is some lacy white fabric in my apartment I found in a drawer ages ago and never found a use for. It's big enough to make an apron out of and hopefully I won't even have to do much sewing. I'm not worrying about shoes because I have to wear special inside shoes at my schools anyway..... though I do have some cuter inside shoes I use at home sometimes and I might be able to pull that off because they're red and black plaid. My regular school shoes are black and white sneakers so they wouldn't look bad.
I did kind of want a blue dress.... I guess it's mostly because the Disney Alice wears a blue dress, but you almost always see her in blue. They did have a blue dress I almost got but it fit me a little weird and wasn't as comfortable as the red one. Also, the lace on the red one is better than the lace on the blue one. The blue one had polka dots. In the end I just thought the red one's style and fit was better.
It's funny because I went to basically all the shops I could think of before I went to the shop I was pretty sure would have what I wanted. I guess I wanted to check out everything first. There really was nothing like what I was looking for at any other store, not to mention the things I tried on ended up being way too small. Lucky I found something!
Not sure if I will use the dress too much after Halloween but why not? It will be fun to have a dress for tea parties.
After I get the apron figured out I will take some photos.
