nearly . . .

Last night I finished adding page breaks and page numbers. All I need to do now is tidy up my contents page, get my bibliography double-checked and then ho! to the printers. I doubt anything will sink in until I've actually handed in my bound hard copies; when something's been a part of your daily routine for 4 years it's a little hard to reconcile yourself to not having to worry about it any more. Of course there's still my review panel, possible rejection, and at the very least I'm sure I'll have to redraft for many months to come if conditionally accepted, but I think I've finally broken the back of this sonofabitch.

Cold counsel on making plans for a future career can wait, for now I think I'm entitled to feel a little pleased with myself for completing 100,000 words while slogging away in my soul-destroying supermarket job and worrying about my mothers health. Well done me, and even if 'Work in Utopia: Significant Transformative Activity as a path to the good life' turns out to be a right load, at least I managed to write it.
