Hontou sugoi desu wa!! It's official: The Chicago Cubs are the 2007 National League Central Division Champions! *big fanfare* The Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds 6-0, shrinking their magic number to one. A spectacular gem by pitcher Carlos Zambrano and the Cubs offense!! ^o^ But what's more... is that the San Diego Padres defeated the Milwaukee Brewers (the team that was competing against the Cubs for the division) 6-3. Oh man, I watched as the Padres closer Trevor Hoffman just struck-out the 3 Brewer batters on the 9th inning - making the magic number go down to zero and declaring the Cubs as Central Division champions!! *throws confetti*
I love the Chicago Cubs because they really know how to show a true fighting spirit!! I've been a fan for 9 years and I always admire them for having that kind of spirit - no matter is they finish last or first. It's one of those things in life that make me know that everyone can have true determination to accomplish the impossible. They may have their ups and downs as each year goes by, but they sure know how to work as one team. Now that's being optimistic!!
They may have started the season bad, but as the season went on... their hopes were alive and they have conquered their goal. But this is just the beginning of their quest to accomplish the primary goal. I just hope and pray that they will continue this splendid run in the playoffs as they will do their best to win the World Series once and for all! YOSH!! *pumps fist in confidence.
To celebrate this special and glorious occasion, I'm treating everyone with Yukito's homemade cookies and lots of bottles of champagne and sake. I feel that I should go out there and party, but I just can't stop dancing and cheering in my room as the Cubs have won the division since 2003!! Let's get this party started! Omedetou gozaimasu!! *salutes*
