At this point I've built Writing A Wedding Post up in my head to such epic proportions that it seems impossible, so instead I'm just going to write about it for a little while until I get bored, and then maybe post more about it later

Dude, that is some awesome friend matchmaking! We had some of our tables hit it off too, I was super excited about it. So frustrating not to be able to sit at all the tables simultaneously and see how it all went, ha.
Okay, if you like lambics and sweet things, you should definitely think of trying out some fruitier beers and ciders! The one I had most recently that springs to mind is Dogfish Head Festina Pêche, but there are loads of others. Blueberry beers in the summer can be nice (and some bars will put blueberries in, and you can watch them bob up and down; buoyancy fun!). I'm trying to remember which one gets served in Boston a lot: Sea Dog Blueberry, maybe? For ciders, I like Woodchuck Pear Cider; it's like grownup juice, so summery.
The Weihenstephaner there is a hefeweizen, which can taste kind of like cloves or bananas. It pairs well with Mexican food but also *lots* of other things: the internet is suggesting creamy cheeses, fish/seafood, tons of other things.
For me the big breakthrough about beer was starting to figure out what I did and didn't like: I don't like hoppy beers, because they're bitter, so I avoid IPAs, which are very hoppy. I don't like pilsners, because they taste so bland. I *do* really like wheat beers and a lot of Belgian beers (except most IPAs; the Leffe I mentioned is a good intro to Belgian beer), because they taste lighter and often more complex. If there are any bars near you that do beer flights, you could go and taste a bunch of different things and figure out if any of them intrigue you!
..... and oh my god, this comment makes me sound like a lunatic. I JUST LOVE YUMMY THINGS.
