I made curry oatmeal this morning! I used some leftover Japanese curry from last night's Curry Soba Sammiches* and mixed it into my oats. One should note that I make my oatmeal a bit watery (close to the consistency of Chinese porridge) and with lots of sugar. This plus curry is good, says my happy mouth and belly. Before trying this concoction, one should also note that I adore cheese and jalapeno corndogs and Coke for breakfast.
But maybe curry oatmeal is a normal thing in Japan? I mean, you do find curry versions of all sorts of Western foods. I'll hold off on Googling for curry oatmeal until this curry warmth is gone, as the novelty adds, and disappointment may just make me hungry again.
*S&B mild with potato, onion, carrot and mushrooms, mixed with soba, on top of Acme's rustic sandwich rolls. I liked it.
