Got a Job
So it's been roughly two weeks since I graduated and I already got a job. I'm a Tools Tester at Secret Level (a small video game company owned by SEGA). Basically, the programmers create various tools for the artists and I get to test them out. I also get to do basic video game testing as well from time to time. However, because most of my job deals more with the programmers and tools team, my pay is much higher than that of your average tester. I'm not making major money here, but it's a decent starting point. Also, I'm a contract worker, which means every 3 months, my contract is up for renegotiation. I'm hoping that eventually they'll do one or more of the following: pay me more, take me off contract, or move me to a different position. It's not that I hate this position, this is only my second day, it's just not one I want to work in forever.
Because of this, I have to find a new apartment. Jan has already found a new place to live and now that I have a job and know how much I'm making, so do I. It's been a very head-spinning, heart aching few weeks and I feel like if I can just make it through this one and the next one, everything might just be alright.
